High School Student

Coming into the class, I didn’t know quite what to expect. Now after only five days I will be going back to Ohio having learned many lessons: to think through an editor’s eye, to be patient and let the camera roll – something will happen, and to not be afraid to get up to people’s faces and tell their stories. I also go back being more versed in the ethics of documentary filmmaking, the process before the final product, and what makes a good film. Also, that light and sound are super duper important. I loved the class. It was a perfect combination of more traditional classroom-style learning and active projects.
