From the first-person perspective of filmmaker Darah Golub, who began filming herself and her peers at the New School for Jazz in 2007, The New York Love Songs chronicles a number of artists throughout the decade to explore how their relationship to music evolves as they come of age at the start of the new digital frontier.

Darah Golub is a documentarian, editor, producer and vocalist. She earned a bachelors degree from Boston University before starting at The New School for Jazz and embarking on her personal journey film "The New York Love Songs" in 2007. During that time Golub took film courses at SVA, NYU and The New School, and worked for filmmaker Jennifer Fox in support of the theatrical run for her film “Flying: Confessions of a Free Woman.” After school, the singer toured with the band Parlour Tricks until 2016, while continuing to film. Outside of music and the documentary, Golub is the Associate Director of JBS, a Jewish non-profit television channel where she has worked as a producer, editor and post-production supervisor since 2009. She also does voiceover and puppet work for JBS, as well as created and produced the lifestyle series "Jewish NYC" for that network. Since 2011, Golub has been the personal videographer/documentarian to hip hop artist Kosha Dillz. Most recently, Golub's music documentary work landed her a spot as co-host of "Soul Sisters," a podcast for Billboard that spotlights female musicians.
