Small, Beautifully Moving Parts, edited by Edit Center alum Jenny Lee will be released in New York at Cinema Village on Friday May 11th. The film will also open in cities around the country throughout the summer. Small, Beautifully Moving Parts premiered at the 2011 South by Southwest Film Festival in the Narrative Competition. Film Edited by TEC Alum and Instructor Wins at Tribeca
Una Noche, edited by TEC alum and instructor Cindy Lee (Hot Coffee, No End In Sight) picked up three top awards last week at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. The film, directed by Lucy Mulloy, received the award for Best Actor in a Narrative Feature, Best New Narrative Director, and Best Cinematography in a Narrative Feature. The Edit Center at Tribeca
This year's Tribeca Film Festival will showcase work from class projects, Edit Center alums and instructors. Nancy Please, a 2011 class film which was edited by TEC alum Ron Dulin, will have its premiere in the World Narrative Competition on Saturday, April 21st. Also premiering on April 20th is 2011 class film Fairhaven. Una Noche, edited by TEC alum Cindy Lee will have its North American Premiere on Thursday April 19th. The Girl, edited by TEC alum Stephanie Ahn and TEC instructor Malcolm Jamieson will have its premiere on Friday April 20th. And Keep the Lights On, edited by TEC instructor Affonso Gonçalves--which had its premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival--will have its New York premiere on Wednesday April 25th.
The Edit Center also congratulates TEC Alum Sandy Patch whose short documentary The Last Ice Merchant will premiere on Sunday April 22nd.

Grand Jury Prizes for Films Edited by TEC Alum and TEC Instructor
The 2012 Sundance Film Festival Awards were announced this Saturday. Benh Zeitlin's Beasts of the Southern Wild received the Grand Jury Prize in the US Dramatic Competition. The film was edited by long time Edit Center instructor Affonso Gonçalves (Winter's Bone, "Mildred Pierce"). TEC alum Kathryn Schubert was Gonçalves' assistant editor. Receiving the Grand Jury Prize in the US Documentary Competition was Eugene Jarecki's The House I Live In, edited by Edit Center alum Paul Frost. Films Edited by TEC Instructor and TEC Alum Nominated for Oscars
Time Freak, edited by Edit Center instructor Geoffrey Richman (The Cove, Sicko) has been nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at 2012's Academy Awards. Also nominated this year is the documentary feature film If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front, which was edited by TEC alum Matthew Hamachek. A 2003 graduate of the Edit Center, Matthew has worked on films such as Racing Dreams (Best Documentary, Tribeca Film Festival 2009) and Street Fight, which was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2006 Academy Awards. Page One Released on DVD
Page One: Inside the New York Times is available on DVD starting today. TEC alumni Chris Branca, Chad Beck and Sarah Devorkin edited the film. Instructor Alan Oxman produced. Page One had its premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and was then distributed by Magnolia Pictures. The New York Daily News writes, "This terrific tale of an establishment in transition ultimately plays like All the President's Men, with the intrigue coming from inside the building. Class Project Released on DVD
Former class documentary project Hot Coffee will be available on DVD on November 1, 2011. The film had its premiere at Sundance and was picked up by HBO. Edit Center alum Cindy Lee (No End In Sight) edited the film and was assisted by Rebecca Saladoff, also an alum. TEC instructor and founder Alan Oxman produced. Class Project Released in Theaters in NYC and LA
Former class project Dog Sweat will be released in theaters in New York City on November 11, 2011 and in Los Angeles on November 18, 2011. The film was edited by TEC alum/instructor Mollie Goldstein, who was assisted by alums Sophie Corra, Richard Migliorisi and Simon Wheeldon. Of the film, The Hollywood Reporter writes, "With well-known Iranian filmmakers being jailed, especially following the highly protested presidential elections, and others fleeing the countries, the courage shown by Keshavarz and his cast and crew speaks for itself." Filmmaker Magazine Covers Student Life in 6-week Class
On a weekly basis, six-week student and filmmaker Alix Lambert writes about her experiences taking the September 2011 class. Of one of her teachers, Alan Oxman (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Happiness) she writes "Oxman is a man of enormous patience. He sits with me on and off for the rest of the week. If he can teach me how to edit, he can teach a space alien how to edit." She also discusses her experience workshopping her scene with Rodney Evans (Brother to Brother), the director of the current class project The Happy Sad.
