Class Project Released on DVD by Fox Searchlight

The project of the May 2010 6-week class, The Art of Getting By (formerly titled Homework), will be available for purchase on DVD and Blu-ray November 29th. The film stars Freddie Highmore (Finding Neverland) and Emma Roberts (Scream 4), was edited by TEC alum/instructor Mollie Goldstein who was assisted by alum Sophie Corra. Class Film to Premiere in Theaters this Weekend

The Art of Getting By (previously titled Homework), the project of the May 2010 6-week class, premieres June 17th in theaters. TEC alum and instructor, Mollie Goldstein, edited The Art of Getting By with TEC alum Sophie Corra serving as assistant editor. The film stars Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Emma Roberts (Scream 4) and Rita Wilson (Sleepless in Seattle). Class Project Picked Up by Fox Searchlight

Homework, the project of the May 2010 6-week class, has been acquired by Fox Searchlight after premiering at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. The film is scheduled to be released in 2011. TEC alum and instructor, Mollie Goldstein, edited Homework, with TEC alum, Sophie Corra, serving as Assistant Editor. Nancy Utley, the President of Fox Searchlight Pictures, describes the film as a “real coming-of-age story. It touched us with its genuine performances, depth, and wit.” The film is the directorial debut of Gavin Wiesen, and stars Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Emma Roberts (Valentine’s Day), and Rita Wilson (“From the Earth to the Moon,” Sleepless in Seattle). Edit Center Alums and Teachers Headed to Sundance

Sundance announced its lineup this week which includes two class films, Homework and Hot Coffee. Also headed to Park City is a slew of TEC alums/instructors. Homework Wins Best Film at Slamdance

Homework, edited by Edit Center alum Michael Taylor, won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Fiction Film at this year's Slamdance Film Festival. Michael took the Edit Center class in the summer of 2001. His other past projects include This So-Called Disaster, a documentary that premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival and will open this spring at the Film Forum.
