Alum Films Set to Premiere at SXSW

SXSW 2011 will feature a number of films that TEC alums have contributed to in various ways. Small, Beautifully Moving Parts, a film following a woman whose pregnancy compels her to seek out her estranged mother, will be featured as one of eight contenders in the Narrative Feature Competition. The film was edited by TEC alum Jenny Lee, with alum Phil Thangsombat assisting, and alum Cindy Yoon serving as music supervisor. A Mouthful, a class film in 2010, is one of eight documentaries in the Documentary Feature Competition, and was edited by Amy Foote, who was assisted by Danielle Chu and Sam Eliad, and produced by Rachel Mills, all TEC alums. Le Tigre: On Tour, directed by Kerthy Fix and edited by alum Sarah Devorkin, and Page One: A Year Inside the New York Times, edited by alums Chad Beck, Sarah Devorkin, and Chris Branca and produced by TEC instructor Alan Oxman, were also selected to screen at SXSW 2011. Le Tigre: On Tour, shows a unique glimpse into the world of modern pop through the eyes of an electronic feminist band.
