Finishing Heaven Nominated for an Emmy Award

The project of the September 2007 six-week class, Finishing Heaven, has been nominated for an Emmy Award in the category of 'Outstanding Arts & Culture Programming.' The film was edited by TEC alum Amy Foote and acquired by HBO after premiering at the LA Film Festival. Variety Magazine's review of the film praised Amy's editing, referring to how she "smoothly weaves in and out of the new and old footage," and the film was featured in NY Magazine's "Approval Matrix" under the category "highbrow/brilliant." Alum Updates and HBO Premiere

Finishing Heaven, the documentary project of the September 2007 6-week class, was cut by alum Amy Foote and will premiere on HBO2 September 30th at 8pm. Alum Michael Taylor edited two films that will premiere on HBO within the month. The first is a documentary titled, Youth Knows No Pain, which premieres on August 31st. Heather Smith, Jeff Mehiel and Dave Miller, all alums, were assistant editors on the film. Michael's other HBO premiere, September 3rd, is titled A Dog Year and stars Jeff Bridges. Louise Ford and Alec Styborski, TEC alums, were both assistants on the film.

 

Finishing Heaven Premieres at the LA Film Festival

Finishing Heaven, the project of the Sept/Oct 2007 six-week class, recently premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival. The VARIETY review of the film singled out editor (and TEC alum) Amy Foote for how she "smoothly weaves in and out of the new and old footage." Finishing Heaven is directed by Mark Mann and produced by Independent Spirit Award winning producers David Shapiro and Laurie Gwen Shapiro. It has been purchased by HBO and will be airing in 2009.
