An enrolled student may cancel his enrollment at any time, in which case the following terms will apply:

1. If a student requests cancellation within seven days after signing the Enrollment Agreement, the student will be refunded all money paid to the school, with the exception of the non-refundable registration fee, as long as the student has not entered into instruction.
2. Thereafter, for courses between 1 and 6 weeks in length, in the event of cancellation or termination by the school, the school shall retain the non-refundable registration fee, plus the cost of any textbooks or supplies accepted, plus the following tuition liability as of the student’s last date of physical attendance.

Notice of cancellation or withdrawal must be made in writing. If the student is a minor, such notice must be made by a parent or legal guardian.

Though there are no entrance requirements, please note that the six-week editing class is a rigorous and challenging program that requires familiarity and comfort with computers as well as individual initiative and motivation. Successful students are self-directed, energetic, focused, and computer literate.

Because the six-week course is based on the realities of the post-production world - taught by working editors on actual films - we cannot guarantee a standardized experience. Both the teachers and the projects vary from class to class. Class films may be either narratives or documentaries. Filmmakers' availability also varies. Filmmaker visits range in frequency from twice a week to once per class.

We always select the best film we can find for editing in our six-week class. However, as tastes and skill levels vary, all students may not be happy with a given film. This is a risk of taking the six-week course.

The Edit Center does not have a formal job placement program and we make no guarantees of employment after the class. If The Edit Center deems a student to be a disturbance to the class, we reserve the right to expel that student. In such case the student will receive no refund.

Each student who completes the six-week course will receive a DVD copy of the scenes they edited during the course. Students may include these scenes on their private showreels for the purpose of gaining employment. Students registering for the six-week course must agree, however, not to post their scenes online or in any public forum (youtube, watchreel, etc.).

Up to two weeks before the start date of a class, you may cancel and receive an 80% refund. Any time after that there are no refunds. Notice of cancellation or withdrawal must be made in writing. Refunds will be issued within thirty days of receipt of notice of cancellation in the same form of payment as originally provided.
